Revocation of Your Consent to Data Processing

Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You may revoke any consent you have already given at any time. An informal notification by email to us is sufficient for this purpose. The legality of the data processing carried out before the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

Right to Object to Data Collection in Special Cases and to Direct Advertising (Art. 21 GDPR)

If data processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR, you have the right at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to object to the processing of your personal data; this also applies to profiling based on these provisions. The respective legal basis on which processing is based can be found in this privacy policy. If you object, we will no longer process your personal data concerned, unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims (objection pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR).

Right to Lodge a Complaint with the Competent Supervisory Authority

In the event of violations of the GDPR, data subjects have a right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement. The right to lodge a complaint exists without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy.

Right to Data Portability

You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfillment of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done insofar as it is technically feasible.

SSL or TLS Encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or inquiries that you send to us as the site operator, this website uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser’s address line changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line.

If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Encrypted Payment Transactions on This Website

If, after the conclusion of a paid contract, there is an obligation to provide us with your payment data (e.g. account number in the case of direct debit authorization), this data is required for payment processing.

Payment transactions via common means of payment (Visa/MasterCard, direct debit) are carried out exclusively via an encrypted SSL or TLS connection. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser’s address line changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line.

With encrypted communication, your payment data that you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Information, Blocking, Deletion, and Correction

Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipient, and the purpose of the data processing and, if applicable, a right to correction, blocking, or deletion of this data. For this purpose, as well as for further questions on the subject of personal data, you may contact us at any time at the address stated in the legal notice.

Right to Restriction of Processing

You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. You may contact us at any time at the address provided in the legal notice for this purpose. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:

  • If you contest the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we generally need time to verify this. For the duration of the review, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.

  • If the processing of your personal data was/is unlawful, you may request the restriction of data processing instead of deletion.

  • If we no longer need your personal data, but you require it for the exercise, defense, or assertion of legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of deletion.

  • If you have lodged an objection pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR, a balance must be struck between your interests and ours. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.

  • If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, such data may—apart from being stored—only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or a Member State.

The use of contact data published in the context of the legal notice obligation for the sending of unsolicited advertising and information materials is hereby objected to. The operators of the pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of the unsolicited sending of advertising information, such as spam emails.

3. Data Collection on Our Website

Cookies

Some of the website pages use so-called cookies. Cookies do not damage your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies serve to make our offer more user-friendly, effective, and secure. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer and stored by your browser.

Most of the cookies we use are so-called “session cookies”. They are automatically deleted after the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognize your browser on your next visit.

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.

Cookies that are necessary for carrying out the electronic communication process or for providing certain functions desired by you (e.g. shopping cart function) are stored on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing cookies for the technically error-free and optimized provision of its services. Insofar as other cookies (e.g. cookies for analyzing your browsing behavior) are stored, these are dealt with separately in this privacy policy.

Server Log Files

The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

  • Browser type and browser version

  • Operating system used

  • Referrer URL

  • Host name of the accessing computer

  • Time of the server request

  • IP address

This data is not merged with other data sources.

This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimization of its website—for this purpose, the server log files must be collected.

Contact Form

If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form, including the contact data you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass this data on without your consent.

The processing of the data entered into the contact form is therefore based exclusively on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may revoke this consent at any time. An informal notification by email to us is sufficient for this purpose. The legality of the data processing operations carried out before the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you request deletion, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g. after your inquiry has been fully processed). Mandatory statutory provisions—especially retention periods—remain unaffected.

Inquiry by Email, Telephone, or Fax

If you contact us by email, telephone, or fax, your inquiry, including all resulting personal data (name, inquiry), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. We do not pass this data on without your consent.

The processing of this data is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, insofar as your inquiry is related to the fulfillment of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and/or on our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), since we have a legitimate interest in the effective processing of inquiries addressed to us.

The data sent by you to us via contact inquiries will remain with us until you request deletion, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been completely processed). Mandatory statutory provisions—especially statutory retention periods—remain unaffected.

Registration on This Website

You can register on our website in order to use additional functions on the site. We use the data entered for this purpose only for the use of the respective offer or service for which you have registered. The mandatory information requested during registration must be provided in full. Otherwise, we will reject the registration.

For important changes, such as changes to the scope of the offer or technically necessary changes, we use the email address provided during registration to inform you in this way.

The processing of the data entered during registration is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may revoke any consent you have given at any time. An informal notification by email to us is sufficient for this purpose. The legality of the data processing already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data collected during registration will be stored by us for as long as you are registered on our website and will then be deleted. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

Comment Function on This Website

For the comment function on this page, in addition to your comment, information about the time the comment was created, your email address, and, if you do not post anonymously, the username you have chosen will be stored.

Storage of the IP Address

Our comment function stores the IP addresses of users who write comments. Since we do not review comments on our site before they are published, we need this data in order to be able to take action against the author in the event of legal violations such as insults or propaganda.

Subscribing to Comments

As a user of the site, you can subscribe to comments after registering. You will receive a confirmation email to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided. You can unsubscribe from this function at any time via a link in the info emails. The data entered in connection with subscribing to comments will be deleted in this case; however, if you have transmitted this data to us for other purposes and elsewhere (e.g. newsletter subscription), it will remain with us.

Storage Duration of Comments

The comments and the associated data (e.g. IP address) are stored and remain on our website until the commented content has been completely deleted or the comments must be deleted for legal reasons (e.g. offensive comments).

Legal Basis

The comments are stored on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may revoke any consent you have given at any time. An informal notification by email to us is sufficient for this purpose. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

Processing of Data (Customer and Contract Data)

We collect, process, and use personal data only insofar as this is necessary for the establishment, content design, or modification of the legal relationship (inventory data). This is done on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the fulfillment of a contract or pre-contractual measures. We collect, process, and use personal data regarding the use of our internet pages (usage data) only insofar as this is necessary to enable the user to use the service or to bill for it.

The collected customer data will be deleted after completion of the order or termination of the business relationship. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

Data Transfer Upon Conclusion of Contract for Online Shops, Retailers, and Goods Shipment

We transfer personal data to third parties only if this is necessary within the framework of contract processing, for example to companies entrusted with the delivery of goods or the credit institution commissioned with payment processing. Data will not be transferred beyond this or only if you have expressly consented to the transfer. Your data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent, for example for advertising purposes.

The basis for data processing is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the fulfillment of a contract or pre-contractual measures.

4. Social Media

Social Media Plugins with Shariff

Plugins from social media are used on our pages (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, Pinterest, XING, LinkedIn, Tumblr).

You can usually recognize the plugins by the respective social media logos. To ensure data protection on our website, we use these plugins only together with the so-called “Shariff” solution. This application prevents the plugins integrated on our website from transmitting data to the respective provider as soon as you first enter the page.

Only when you activate the respective plugin by clicking the corresponding button is a direct connection to the provider’s server established (consent). As soon as you activate the plugin, the respective provider receives the information that you have visited our site with your IP address. If you are simultaneously logged into your respective social media account (e.g. Facebook), the respective provider can assign the visit to our pages to your user account.

Activating the plugin constitutes consent within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future.

5. Analysis Tools and Advertising

Google Analytics

This website uses functions of the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”. These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

The storage of Google Analytics cookies and the use of this analysis tool are based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior in order to optimize both its website and its advertising.

IP Anonymization

We have activated the IP anonymization function on this website. As a result, your IP address will be shortened by Google within Member States of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before transmission to the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity, and provide other services related to website and internet use to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

Browser Plugin

You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser software settings accordingly; however, please note that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent. You can also prevent the collection of the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link:
https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

Objection to Data Collection

You can prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set that prevents the collection of your data on future visits to this website: Disable Google Analytics.

Contract Processing

We have concluded a contract processing agreement with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

Demographic Characteristics in Google Analytics

This website uses the “demographic characteristics” function of Google Analytics. This makes it possible to generate reports containing statements about the age, gender, and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-based advertising from Google as well as visitor data from third-party providers. This data cannot be assigned to a specific person. You can deactivate this function at any time via the ad settings in your Google account or generally prohibit the collection of your data by Google Analytics as described in the section “Objection to Data Collection”.

6. Plugins and Tools

Google Web Fonts

This site uses so-called Web Fonts provided by Google for the uniform display of fonts. When you access a page, your browser loads the required Web Fonts into its browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly.

For this purpose, the browser you use must connect to Google’s servers. This gives Google knowledge that our website was accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web Fonts is in the interest of a uniform and attractive presentation of our online offerings. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

If your browser does not support Web Fonts, a standard font from your computer will be used.

Further information on Google Web Fonts can be found at:
https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq
and in Google’s privacy policy:
https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de

Google reCAPTCHA

We use “Google reCAPTCHA” (hereinafter “reCAPTCHA”) on our websites. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”).

The purpose of reCAPTCHA is to verify whether data entry on our websites (e.g. in a contact form) is carried out by a human or by an automated program. To do this, reCAPTCHA analyzes the behavior of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis begins automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the website. For the analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various pieces of information (e.g. IP address, time spent on the website by the visitor, or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Google.

The reCAPTCHA analyses run completely in the background. Website visitors are not informed that an analysis is taking place.

Data processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its web offerings from abusive automated spying and from spam.

On our website, we offer payment via PayPal, among other methods. The provider of this payment service is PayPal (Europe) S.à.r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg (hereinafter “PayPal”).

If you choose payment via PayPal, the payment data you enter will be transmitted to PayPal.

Your data is transmitted to PayPal on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent) and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (processing for the performance of a contract). You have the option to revoke your consent to data processing at any time. A revocation does not affect the validity of data processing operations carried out in the past.
